Do You Bid Others to Piety and Forget Yourself?

Do you bid others to piety, and forget yourself?

When you read the Book of Allah, the one thing you should be thinking of is – first and foremost- yourself. You should act in accordance with its teachings and moral principles. To learn from and practice its lessons.

What good will the religion and its teachings do you if you do not act on upon them yourself?

So, before thinking about giving other people advice, you should think first about your own self as Allah said:

Would you order people to do good deeds and forget to do them yourselves even though you read the Book? Why do you not think? (AL-Baqarah 2:44)
